Don't have a Microsoft 365 Copilot licence? No problem.
Designate 1 "Driver" per team who has the M365 Copilot licence - they run Copilot on their laptop and screen-share. Everyone else co-designs: read the scenario, suggest prompts, evaluate outputs, and document what worked. The Driver types - the team thinks.
No licensed person at all? Use free Copilot Chat at copilot.microsoft.com (sign in with a personal Microsoft account) - you'll lose Office app integration but can still practise prompting craft.

👋 Welcome, Hackers

You've just joined Harmoni Housing Finance Corporation (HHFC) - a fictional secondary mortgage corporation modelled on Cagamas. HHFC is in the middle of a transformation programme and the EXCO needs sharper insight, faster.

This is your one general Hack Pack. Every team is using the same pack - the only difference is the angle your team chooses. Pick a real HHFC pain point below, or invent one of your own. Creativity is rewarded: the boldest, sharpest, most useful Copilot output wins the floor.

🎯 Pick Your Angle

Choose ONE of the six HHFC challenge themes below - each one is mapped to a real Cagamas function, so you'll find your seat in at least one of them. Each theme is a real pain point with real data, real emails, real tension. Don't try to solve all six. Pick the one that fires up your team and go deep.

🎯 Your Tasks (Same Shape for Every Theme)

Task 1 is your must-do (~30 min). Tasks 2 & 3 are bonus stretches if you finish early. Quality > quantity. Use the GCSE framework (Goal · Context · Source · Expectation) for every prompt.

  1. Diagnose the Problem ⏱️ ~30 min · Must-Do
Use Copilot to analyse the data, emails, or context tied to your chosen theme. Deliver: a sharp 4-bullet summary that names the root cause, the people affected, and the cost of inaction.
  2. Draft the Communication ⭐ Bonus
Pick the audience your theme demands - a lender, an investor, the CFO, BNM, or your team. Deliver: one polished email or message under 200 words that actually moves the situation forward.
  3. Build the Leadership Brief ⭐ Stretch
You're presenting to EXCO in 30 minutes. Deliver: 3 leadership-ready talking points framed as Problem · Cause · Fix. Make every word earn its place.

💡 Copilot Tips for Today

  • Copilot Chat (Teams or Microsoft365.com): best for analysing data and drafting documents quickly
  • Copilot in Word: use "Draft with Copilot" to generate longer documents, then edit
  • Copilot in Outlook: use "Draft with Copilot" to write professional emails fast
  • Paste your data directly into the chat so Copilot can read tables and lists you copy in
  • Be specific in your prompts: the more context you give, the better the output. Always GCSE.

📝 Your Working File

Your shared working folder contains 2 files for every team:

  • 📊 BLANK - Promptathon Team Pack: paste your prompts and Copilot outputs here as you go.
  • ⚖️ Peer Judging Sheet: used during the presentation segment to score the other 5 teams.

🕵️ Important: Open the working file in an Incognito (Chrome) or InPrivate (Edge) window to make sure you're signed in with the correct shared account.

Power Up: Locked

Ship Task 1 first. Take on bonus tasks only if time allows. Then unlock your Power Up - one prompt that turns your work today into something the team will actually keep using.

🎤 Your 5-Minute Demo

  • Slide 1: Which theme you picked (or the one you invented) and why
  • Slide 2: The single best prompt your team wrote (and why it worked)
  • Slide 3: The output - show the actual artefact
  • Slide 4: Where you'd take it next - your reusable prompt + the moments you'd use it
  • Keep it tight. Demo > describe. Show the prompt, show the output, then sit down.
